Introducing In Five Training
A new approach to leadership and communication training
When Molly and I first had the idea to move our training programs from in-person, group sessions to an online format, we were overwhelmed with questions. How do we make it relatable and engaging for someone sitting at their work desk or watching on a tablet at home? How do we bring real-life experiences into the training if we’re not leading group discussions or sharing personal anecdotes? How do we provide a wealth of information without it becoming too long or too complex to finish?
What we quickly realized was that we couldn’t simply record a trainer speaking at a podium, maybe throw in some PowerPoint-style slides, and call it a replacement for an in-person class. Instead, we needed to approach the content in an entirely new way. Here’s how we did it:
Breathing life into animated videos
We discovered a way to turn lecture-style lessons into engaging animated videos, with characters acting out the information in situations that would feel familiar to learners. Our format quickly brings learners up to speed by presenting background information and new concepts, then demonstrating how those concepts play out in a working environment.
Focusing on practical solutions
While new ideas and concepts need to be learned, few people sign up for training JUST to receive ideas. Instead, they’re looking for ways to take those ideas back to work with them and implement them on the job. Our training bridges the gap between “concept” and “application” by showing how newly acquired skills can be used in real-life situations.
Asking questions and playing out scenarios
We help you bring new concepts to into your daily life by posing questions or statements for you to reflect on: Is it true? Have you had this thought? If you challenge this thought, what would the result be? We also draw on decades of experience to create scenarios where characters act out normal workplace behaviors and show how taking a different approach or using a new skill can improve outcomes. By highlighting a real-world application, we make it easier for learners to implement changes in their own daily work.
Remembering new skills in the long run
It can be easy to change for a day or two, but permanent change often requires committing to new behaviors over and over again. We support your long-term growth by providing job aids and worksheets that quickly jog your memory and take you step-by-step through a simple process for using the new skill. These tools help you wade into any circumstance with confidence, whether it’s handling a potentially awkward conversation with tact, drafting a corrective action for a team member, or providing positive reinforcement for a job well done.
Keeping your options open
In Five Training not only offers programs that you can sign up for and begin taking almost immediately, we also provide customized content for employers to roll out to key employees or their whole staff. Depending on the level of customization your organization needs, we can incorporate
