About Us
How we started In Five Training
In Five Training started when Molly Scurto and Staci McDaniel decided to combine the best elements of THEIR individual companies to create a training company like no other.
According to Molly, “We wanted to build training programs that captured the uniqueness of any work environment and the reality of ‘all things’ people (the way they act, communicate, and form relationships) while adding specific skills necessary for individual, team, leader, and business success. We also wanted our training to have a wow factor like no other—the type of training that balances learning with memorable moments, a little bit of humor, and relatable characters.”
Staci adds, “We started by asking a lot of questions: How do we make online training relatable and engaging for someone sitting at their work desk or watching on a tablet at home? How do we bring real-life experiences into the training if we’re not leading group discussions or sharing personal anecdotes? How do we provide a wealth of information without it becoming too long or too complex to finish?”
It quickly became clear that we needed to provide content in a way that wasn’t just somewhat interesting but was actually entertaining – something that would engage learners’ attention and be memorable after the training ended. We needed to find a way to bridge that gap between “concept” and “application” by demonstrating new skills in familiar, real-world settings so that learners could understand how to implement their new knowledge on-the-job. We also needed to offer short, impactful training that gets quickly to the point and doesn’t waste learners’ time or sacrifice company productivity. Those initial impressions helped us shape a framework for all of our In Five Training programs, which in turn has helped us find success with numerous clients since we first started our company.

Staci McDaniel
Co-Founder & Chief Operations Officer
Staci is the Co-Founder, Co-Owner & Chief Technology and Marketing Officer of In Five Training. With 25 years of graphic design experience, as well as nine years of experience in communications and public relations for various companies and non-profit organizations, Staci McDaniel loves helping clients create custom training programs that work seamlessly within their organizations’ overall training plan. Before running her own consulting company, she worked for the Communications Department of PacificSource Health Plans, writing materials to explain member benefits, provider requirements, and policies and procedures, as well as handling employee communications within the organization and providing support to the Marketing Department. Among Staci’s many projects, she helped develop an award-winning HIPAA compliance program using a serial comic strip as a way to educate and remind employees about privacy laws and compliance issues.
While at PacificSource, Staci achieved her PHR certification in Human Resources and has five years of experience helping with employee relations, corrective action, and training, too. In college, Staci worked part-time for a large pediatric clinic learning about patient care, confidentiality, and providing practical support to overworked medical professionals. Staci also worked for a non-profit, non-partisan voter information resource center creating materials to explain complex political positions to citizens and conducting research for reporters. Later, Staci joined an organization that ran therapeutic group homes and foster care programs, engaging in fundraising, event planning, PR, and marketing campaigns on their behalf.
Staci attended both the Robert D. Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon and Seattle University, where she was the Opinion Editor of the student newspaper and supported social justice efforts through the Campus Ministry office. Though she considers herself a lifelong Oregonian, she has also lived in Washington and Montana and is happiest wherever there are beautiful mountains, rivers, and lakes.
